Born in 1973? What Else Happened? The Australian Social History Book

Whitlam and his Ministers had a lot to say. More than they should. We decided we liked Advance Australia Fair. Garages were going for good, divorce rules changed, abortion rules were to change, and the Building Unions were having picnics. The Queen opened our Opera House, and Civil Marriages tied lots of knots. France dropped many nukes in the Pacific, and Vietnam for America was still a nightmare. Richard Nixon was getting into hotter and hotter water.

The books were written by Ron Williams who studied the newspapers day-by-day for a particular year, and then condensed the information into a book for that year.

The books are all A5, black and white, with interesting colour covers. There are no charts or graphs or heavy debate. Just facts and opinions and lots of absurd and bold comments. Very nostalgic, a bit irreverent, for the older reader.

They make great gifts for CHRISTMAS, birthdays, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and the like.
